The Story Behind Quilbie™
After becoming parents for the first-time, we (Jordan and Tara) couldn’t find an existing product to help keep our baby comfortable, relaxed and protected from all the agitating elements such as sound, light, rain, heat from the sun and much more.
We tried many of the “traditional covers” on the market and while many of these looked cute or stylish, they were nothing more than a very thin layer of cotton or polyester fabric, offering little protection or practical use at all.
With these covers, our baby was often left agitated from distracting light or noise that these covers weren't helping to block.
In the winter, these covers didn't offer enough insulation, would get soaked in the rain and get blown around in the wind.
In the summer, these covers actually magnified heat from sunlight and then trapped it in; creating a safety hazard for our baby. We wanted something that offered more protection for our baby while also being versatile, stylish and most importantly, safe. So, we set out to invent it...
After relentless research, R&D and materials testing we finally discovered the perfect combination of materials to use for Quilbie (now patented and trademarked as CalmTech™).
To validate these proprietary benefits, we partnered with independent labs to test Quilbie’s CalmTech™ materials against the “traditional” covers on the market (results shown).
How We Got Here
In January 2021, we launched Quilbie on Kickstarter with the goal of raising $10,000 to fund the first batch of production. However, we were blown away with the success of the campaign, achieving 202% of our goal in pre-orders! You can view Quilbie’s Kickstarter campaign video.
Quilbie Today
After successfully delivering Quilbie to all our Kickstarter backers in May 2021, the feedback we received was overwhelmingly positive from the hundreds of parents who pre-ordered. Many expressing a sense of shock because Quilbie actually “does what it says” or being impressed with Quilbie’s CalmTech™ materials, expressing that “the quality is out of this world”.
Now exclusively available to order on Quilbie.com, we look forward to getting Quilbie in the hands of every parent who is looking for a solution to help keep their baby protected, safe and happy. In fact, we look forward to using it ourselves now that we are expecting baby #2 in November, 2021!
